Reversing the Spell
The vast world of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake not only has a lengthy and engaging story, but compelling side stories as well. One of these occurs relatively early on in the adventure, after you break away from your tiny little island and adventure all the way north of the world.
When you head into Khoryv, your goal is to head to Skyfell Tower in order to retrieve an artifact back for the king of Romaria. Here you'll meet a surprisingly difficult opponent, one that can cleave you in two with one blow.

Norvik
With that said, instead of going southwest of Khoryv, head north to find the rather quiet town of Norvik. In fact, it might be a bit too quiet. You may notice that every single person, except one elderly gentleman, is completely asleep. Something is definitely amiss, as it’s not as if they’ve simply gone to bed, but fallen asleep where they stand.
You learn quickly a curse has been put on the town from the faeries of Faerie Village, and you'll then need to negotiate their release with the Faerie Queen. Head outside the small town and head west into the forest where Faerie Village resides.
Faerie Village
Upon entering Faerie Village, you'll be met with a less than welcome reception as everyone is either frightened by your appearance or won’t do business with you. Head into the big building in the north where the Queen will inform you of the situation.
Unfortunately, it looks like the curse on Norvik is caused by the daughter of the queen and a young human boy ran off with one another, all while taking a precious faerie treasure, the dreamstone, and this displeased the Queen immensely. So she cursed the village to eternal sleep until her daughter is returned safely. Now it's your job to find the two lovebirds and bring them home, with no real clue where they might be.
Underground Lake
While you might know immediately where they went, they aren’t too far off. Head south of Faerie Village to find a small cave leading to an underground lake. This is the location where you will find out more information on the two love birds.
Head into the cave and progress southwest. If you can go southeast and south, these entrances will simply wrap around one another. In the southwest, you'll find a small platform surrounded by water. If you need to heal, you can use this to do so.

Progress further, with two chests being in the two northern dead-end. Head to the southmost entrance in the B3 area, and this is your final destination, as you can probably surmise from the map being a giant circular dead-end.
Head up the stairs and to the pedestal to find the faerie artifact dreamstone, along with a note from a note from the young princess. Sadly, it would seem the two’s fate is a tragic one, although in the end they were together.
Reversing the Spell
Return to the queen and inform her of the princess’ fate. She will be distraught, but thankful for you informing her of her daughter’s fate and returning the artifact. The Queen will give you “wakey dust” to remove the curse from Novrik.
All that needs to be done is head back to the small village and use the wakey dust for things to become as they were, without anyone but the one old man being the wiser. Unfortunately, there’s not much more to this quest, with the liveliness of the village being your reward.
